Submit your manuscript online at https://g3.msubmit.net
For intial submission you may upload your manuscript and all associated files as a single PDF file (<15MB). This may include supplemental materials. You can also upload the supplemental material in a compressed (zip) folder along with your manuscript or deposit those in a data repository of your choosing, including our figshare portal.
Upload as a single PDF is not required, in which case, please upload individual files and the system will combine into one PDF. If you wish to include supplemental material outside of a data repository, please upload supplemental files in a compressed (zip) folder.
If your manuscript is accepted for publication, we'll ask you to format the files for publication according to these guidelines and provide the non-pdf files.
Prior to submitting, please ensure:
- All authors have read and approved the manuscript.
- All authors have read the data policy, and all data are in accordance with the policy.
- You will upload any supplemental material to figshare via the figshare portal, include it in your manuscript, or will upload as a compressed (zip) folder.

- The title is concise, informative, avoids jargon and includes the name of the organism under study.
- You have at least three keywords.
- You have prepared a 100-word article summary.

This gives you a great deal of flexibility. If, however, you prefer to submit your manuscript as separate files, please have the following files ready to upload:
- A single manuscript file, excluding Figures/Tables, in Microsoft Word format.
**You can submit a PDF of the manuscript file, including Figures/Tables (in which case do not submit individual Figures and Tables). - Individual Figure files in any of the following formats: .TIFF, .JPEG, .GIF, Microsoft PowerPoint, .EPS, or Adobe Illustrator. Each file should be less than 10 MB in size.
- Tables in Microsoft Word format.

At final submission a public repository will be required. If you are using the GSA figshare portal indicate that you have deposited data at figshare in your Data Availability Statement.
- Reagent Table (optional). If you have a Reagent table, please deposit it via the GSA figshare portal and indicate that you have done so in your Data Availability Statement.
